Introduction:
Job crafting is a coaching tool that empowers individuals to redesign their jobs in ways that align better with their strengths, interests, and values, while staying within the boundaries of their official roles. Rather than changing the job itself, job crafting involves shifting how individuals approach their tasks, relationships, and mindset to create more meaningful and satisfying work experiences. This process encourages individuals to proactively shape their work to foster engagement, fulfilment, and motivation.
Types of Job Crafting
There are three main types of job crafting that individuals can explore:
1. Task Crafting
Involves changing the nature of the tasks an individual performs, either by adding, removing, or altering the scope of tasks to better align with personal strengths and interests.
- Example: A marketing coordinator who enjoys data analysis might take on more reporting responsibilities, while delegating social media tasks to a colleague who excels in that area.
