The Transtheoretical Model (TTM), also known as the Stages of Change Framework, is a psychological model that describes the process of intentional behaviour change. It identifies six distinct stages that individuals go through when modifying behaviour: Precontemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action, Maintenance, and Termination. By understanding these stages, coaches can tailor their interventions to meet clients where they are in their change journey, providing the appropriate support and strategies to facilitate progress. This model is particularly effective for clients working on changing habits, behaviours, or lifestyle patterns.
